SFA-The 87-88 Tapes LP
SFA emerged from the New York Hardcore scene in 1985. Their two tapes – “Demo” (1987) and “Tanks a Lot” (1988) – went out of print over 30 years ago, and have never appeared on vinyl. Over the years they have been copied and copied by friends and fans, but this is the first official reissue.
Many songs on the tapes were later recorded for the SFA “New York” 7”ep (1988) and the SFA “The New Morality” LP (1991), but appear on this LP in their raw original versions – including the very first recording of “Gyroscope.”
SFA continued with a different singer (Brendan) for many years, while Mike Bullshit went on to start GO! in 1989.
30 songs (24 studio and six live at CBGBs) includes a nice 12” booklet with: flyers, pictures, a 1988 lyric sheet, the band’s 1988 interview from Bullshit Monthly, and a current interview.
